Sponsored Listing Policy
This policy explains how sponsored and enhanced listings work on Newcastle Daycare Directory, and how we protect the independence and accuracy of our directory.
Our default listings
The majority of listings on this directory are independent, unpaid entries compiled from publicly available sources including provider websites, ACECQA records and public review platforms. These listings are not influenced by commercial relationships.
Default listings are ordered by quality data where available (such as NQS rating), then alphabetically. They are not ranked by payment.
Sponsored and enhanced listings
Providers may pay to upgrade their listing to an Enhanced Profile or Sponsored placement. Sponsored listings:
- Are clearly labelled with a "Sponsored" or "Enhanced Profile" badge
- May appear in featured or highlighted positions on the directory, homepage or suburb pages
- May include additional content such as photos, a provider-written description, fee information and direct booking links
- Are never ranked or rated higher than independent listings on the basis of payment alone
- Must still meet our content accuracy requirements — we do not publish unverifiable claims
What sponsored listings cannot do
- Cannot claim a higher NQS rating than they actually hold
- Cannot have negative reviews or independent data suppressed
- Cannot appear as "Recommended" or "Top Rated" unless they have genuinely earned that distinction from independent data
- Cannot obscure or override the independent disclaimer shown on every listing page
How we label sponsored content
Sponsored listings carry one of the following visible labels:
- Sponsored — paid placement
- Enhanced Profile — provider has paid to expand their listing content
- Paid Partner — the provider has a commercial relationship with Newcastle Daycare Directory
These labels appear on the listing card and at the top of the listing detail page.
How to advertise or claim your listing
Providers interested in an enhanced or sponsored profile can view our advertising packages or contact us directly.
Corrections and complaints
If you believe a listing is misleading, incorrectly labelled or contains inaccurate information, please submit a correction request. We review all submissions and aim to respond within five business days.
